Our Story
Dover Pride

Here in Dover, now more than ever, we need to highlight the issues and celebrate our individualities in Dover’s community to ensure our wonderful town becomes more inclusive and supportive of LGBTQ+ rights.

We also have the unique position within the UK to show our colours in support of the LGBTQ+ community to Europe and the rest of the world.

Frazer Doyle and Emma Sikora started with an idea that Dover, like many other towns, should have its own pride event. This idea developed over a year and swiftly became a reality after the support and guidance of Future Foundry.

Dover Pride has been creative since its inception in 2019. Frazer Doyle - Chair of Dover Pride, Emma Sikora - Vice Chair of Dover Pride and many of the Dover Pride team have had fantastic creative input in what the march, events, programmes and how Dover Pride will be delivered in August every year.

We'd also like to thank the new members of the team who continuously bring their skills and expertise to make Dover Pride shape into what it is today. Our creative partners Future Foundry have been involved since the beginning too with their groups of artists and designers. Many with either their own businesses, involved in large impactful projects in Dover or part of the market scene at the Dover Student Makers Market. Lots of dedicated work has been undertaken to make Dover an amazing space to be in.

So now is the time again to march, rally and give celebration of Dover’s LGBTQ+ community. Parading through the heart of Dover from Biggin Hall to the Roman Lawn this year. There will be music, entertainment and a market space to enjoy.

Dover Pride is an event for the whole community, it is a series of events to raise awareness, support, self-worth, respect, courage and visibility; to reflect on the history, politics and resilience of the LGBTQ+ community.
